Crazy, Stupid, Love

by Vlad Marin on July 22, 2011

This is a hilarious comedy about a person whose wife wants a divorce from him and his desperate attempts to avoid the situation. Cal Weaver is the central character (played by Steve Carell) whose life is going perfectly fine. He has a very good job, a nice home and a beautiful wife. But one day, everything turns up-side-down when his wife, Emily (played by Julianne Moore), demands a divorce from him. After this all happens, it becomes terribly difficult for him to live life as single since because of his successful married life, he does not have any experience of dating for more than a decade. So he starts spending his time alone in a local bar. Eventually amidst these troubling circumstances, he is helped by his friend Jacob Palmer (played by Ryan Gosling) who is a handsome guy in his thirties and has a good experience of dating. So Jacob sets out to help Cal to fix his single life and gives him several options to consider. He changes his sense of style and his choice of drinks and introduces him to flirty women. But as things proceed, we lean they Cal and Jacob are not the only ones involved in this fiasco and search for love. We see that Cal’s thirteen years old son has a crush on seventeen years old babysitter. Not only that, the babysitter in turn has a crush on Cal. Things becomes a bit more complicated when we learn that Jacob also finds himself falling in love with Hannah (played by Emma Stone). Hannah is a beautiful young girl who has still yet resisted the charms of Jacob but eventually decides to take a chance on him. But besides all these developments, Cal finds himself still terribly attached to Emily and it becomes difficult for him to get into any other relationships. The film has a very engaging and well written plot by experienced writers and one does not get bored even for a few minutes. Besides, excellent cast and fabulous performance is also a distinguished quality of the film. This can be inferred from the trailers and short clips that have been released since the film itself is set to be released on 29th July. Glenn Fogelman and John Requa have collaborated to direct this film and from the story and plot, it seems that this would be quite a successful collaboration. The film has not yet been released and hence uploaded on the torrents, so the fans would have to wait for a while to download Crazy, Stupid, Love for some time. Overall, this film is expected to be a commercial success and a noteworthy effort by the directors.
