The Mountie

The Mountie with a run time of just around 80 minutes feels a bit overstuffed. The movie as too much to show yet it has nothing really concrete in it. This movie presents itself as a vital source of Canadian history but it is not so in reality. The truth is that it is nothing more than a teen age schoolhouse film that ventures into a bit nasty but a tad more interesting revenge thriller. Director and co-writer Wyeth Clarkson has made a very ambitious attempt to make the movie a good one without knowing where they want to go actually. Only thing that they could manage are gorgeous wallpapers of the film which may find some takers surely. The film begins when Corporal Wade Grailing (Andrew W. Walker), a disgraced mountain law enforcer doing his duty of patrolling the Yukon stumbles upon a little girl trying to shoot a man hanging from a tree. This sudden discovery leads him to a gypsy camp comprising of Latvians, Americans and a bunch of Asians supervised by a holy man (Earl Pastko) who tries to hide his crops of opium by refusing to take the cop’s help in treating the sick and the dying. Grailing, being himself heavily addicted to opium has to options in front of him- one to turn a blind’s eye to the injustice prevailing in the camp or to carry out his duty legally in bringing the illegal enterprise to an end and saving the sick and dying people in the camp. The best things about the movie are the valley of Yukon with its gorgeous scenery that lights up the big screen with glimpses of Mother Nature. Disappointingly the pros fail to outweigh the cons of the movie which are even more prominent as the film goes to the 2nd half. It’s a good example of what happens if someone overdoes a topic. The sense of national pride which the film evokes borders uncomfortably on being pandering and outright racist. The good characters portrayed in the film are weak women and children who need saving and all their hopes are pinned on one white man who does all the work. This makes the movie grossly one-sided and thus truly unbearable. People having the habit to watch movies online or downloading from the net may try to watch The Mountie. In fact it’s an ideal movie to sit at home and downloading from net or watching online. The nature lovers can try taking the wallpapers which is amazing but it’s not a very good idea to go to the theatres to watch this film.

Transporter 3

Transporter 3 is the last film in the Transporter trilogy and tells the audience the story of Frank Martin (played by Jason Statham) who is a professional ‘transporter’. This movie is a must watch for an action movie fanatic, and if you haven’t watched it yet, download it online for free and watch it as soon as possible. Jason Statham fans will also have a fun time collecting this movie’s wallpapers as they are very trendy and funky, keeping in mind today’s youth. Like the previous two films, this one too has a lot of adrenaline pumping moments and the direction of the movie by Olivier Megaton deserves special mention because of the sheer brilliance and tremendous pace of the movie. Transporter 3 boasts of a star-studded cast that includes some heavy weights, such as the likes of Jason Statham (Frank Martin), Natalya Rudakova (Valentina), Francois Berleand (Tarconi) and Rober Knepper (Johnson) among others. Francois played a decent enough role as Frank’s friend and had his fare share of spotlight with some funny moments. Natalya also does a commendable job but the obvious show-stealer was none other than the man himself, Jason Statham! The story goes on with Frank having to deliver a Ukrainian Government official’s daughter to a group of men who want to use her as the hostage for executing a disastrous deal. But, there is one catch – both of them have been forced to wear a bracelet that will explode if they try to get out of the range of the car and abort the mission or run away, depending upon the person concerned. This starts off a great storyline which ensures the viewers a thrilling ride with some occasional twists and turns, that will make you beg for more! Although most people will not regard Transporter 3 as the best movie out of all the three films in the trilogy, still it packs a good enough punch to entertain you if you are looking for that extra bit of action in your life. 30 Minutes or less is an American flick that is set to be released August of 2011. It is a movie that is a combination of action and comedy directed and produced by Ruben Fleischer who is also the director of the much acclaimed movie Zombieland; before Fleischer embarked upon directing feature films he was very successful in the field of music videos and commercials. If you are a fan of Jesse Eisenberg, download 30 Minutes or Less for free as he is the lead role in this action-comedy flick. His road to stardom started when he debuted in the series Get Real in 1999 and played as Facebook’s founder in the movie The Social Network wherein he got nominated in the category of Best Actor for the Golden Globes. This is his second movie with Fleischer as he also starred in Zombieland.

Produced by Columbia Pictures, 30 Minutes or Less was funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and was given an R rating by the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA). The story revolves around the pizza delivery man, Brian Wellis, who was caught in the middle of a bank robbery. This is based on a true story particularly in the robbery that transpired in August of 2003 in Pennsylvania wherein Wellis was killed by a bomb tied to his neck. In the movie Nick a pizza delivery boy was kidnapped and was forced to rob a bank. It deviated from the true-to-life story because in the film, he was wearing a bomb vest which is set to detonate in 10 hours. With the time ticking away, Nick seeked the help of his ex-best friend Chet played by Aziz Ansari. Within the limited time they now have to deal with the tumultuous situation aggravated by the police, assassins and yes, their own relationships. Nick Swardson played the trying-hard criminal evil masterminds along with Danny McBride. The filming was in Grand Rapids and in Michigan. The film 30 Minutes or Less, which you can watch online for free, was co-produced by comedian Ben Stiller through his production company, Red Hour Films.
The film is inevitably compared to Zombieland as the approach of being a raunchy and outrageous comedy is quite similar. However, that might not be a bad thing considering the success of the movie. Moviegoers, who can watch 30 Minutes or Less for free, will not be disappointed.

This 2011 film, The Whistleblower, directed by Larysa Kondracki and written by Eilis Kirwan and the director herself stars multi-awarded English film, theatre actress and fashion model, Rachel Weisz who have also starred in movies which you can watch and download online for free like Agora, The Mummy, The Lovely Bones and Definitely, Maybe among others. “The Veteran” movie is a detective action based movie directed by Mathew Hope. The film has a very fine editing by Emma Gaffney crafted with fantasy and contains many thrilling moments which emphasizes the viewer to get deep into the story line. The Veteran is a decent enough movie and you should definitely give it a try and download The Veteran for free and watch it. The storyline describes Robert Miller (Toby Kebbell), who’s a veteran soldier, is returning from the war in Afghanistan to his home in a violent decaying South London council housing estate, run by a gun-toting youth gangs. The gangs are led by a drug lord gangster, Ashley Thomas, who is interested in Miller working for him. Being an ex-army mate (Tom Brooke), Miller finds work in undercover surveillance. He is soon recruited by a couple of shady government operatives (Tony Curran and Brian Cox) for an undercover operation to keep these tabs on a network of suspected terrorist cells. As the story develop too much people into vans and generally, too many cars out scenes. The ending is really surprising, and was pretty left field, but on reflection, it’s a good quality detective sensing movie having a huge lot of war type environment. Generally, Hope uses the back drop of the derelict housing estate to great effect. The fight scenes are strong and technically realistic in nature, and part of this must be due to the fact that co-writer Bob Craft is a former member of the Parachute Regiment and 24 years in the service. The Transporter, the product of a French-American co-production is a high octane film from the start to finish. It’s a seriously fast paced film with lots of action involving some high-end cars and martial arts inserted in some parts. The central character of the film is a man named Frank Martin ( Jason Statham ) who drives cars to earn a living. As the name itself suggests he hires himself out as a driver for people who wants something to be transported from one place to the other. He goes about doing his job keeping in mind his own formulated 4 set of rules – Never Change the Deal; No names ; Never open the package; Never make any promise you can’t keep. He is ready to take anything from one place to the other without asking any questions. Also he is very good in his job, being a very talented driver driving a high performance BMW E38. The film starts with him at the wheel for a bank robbery, his car being used for a getaway car. The deal was to transport three people to the bank and take them back. But when the robbers came out of the bank with an extra person he refused to start the car unless one person was removed as his deal involved transporting three persons not four. The main plot comes up when he is hired to transport a package and while changing a flat tire he opens his trunk only to discover that the package contains a young Chinese woman. Thus he gets drawn into the spiraling web if illegal immigration and slavery making his own life in danger. Still he saves himself with his fantastic driving skills and his knowledge of martial arts. Although the film is too fast paced and contains all the ingredients of being just a popcorn movie still it has some substances which makes the viewers think. People who have the habit to watch movies online or to download movies it sure is a perfect opportunity for them. The movie Transformers 2, with a running time of just over 2 and half hours is a shock and awe cinema which keeps people stuck to their seats. Director Michael Bay, after his tremendous success with Transformers in 2007 is back with another mind-blowing tale of massive robots with thrilling action in Transformers 2. It is an impressive display of special digital effects which make a must watch in multiplexes. People who want to watch it at home online or downloading it will certainly miss out on the digital effects and make it boring. The director shows off his talent for beautiful large screen composition as he sets up the film in 17000 years back story. Bay’s fondness for blowing up things continues in this sequel of the good versus evil robot fight- evil, alien Decepticon robots against a fractious coalition of civilians, soldiers and humanity-loving Autobots. A normal audience will have plenty of scope to admire the fast and furious pace with which the movie goes and numbs the senses within minutes of its starting. Actor La Beouf with his usual hyper charm, playing the character of Sam leaves for his college leaving his girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox) his best Autobot friend, Bumblebee and his robot-slaying past. But when Decepticons figue out that Sam holds the key to their survival they go about trying to kill him in spite of Sam’s protesting that he is just a normal kid. Juggling between human comedy and CGI-generated tragedy, the film takes a action packed tour which includes ocean canyons, Pennsylvania forests, Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian Institution and the Egyptian desert. Just like in the previous movie, Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) has the last word amid the wreckage as the film’s most generous and loving character voices the optimization that man and machine can co exist in this world.

The film boasts of an extremely talented cast and crew against a backdrop of huge explosions and military firepower. More so is the fantastic and colorful wallpapers which makes for some of the best wallpapers from a movie. Our Idiot Brother is an upcoming comedy film that revolves around the life of an idealist brother and his three sisters. The sole brother, because of his crazy ideas, wreaks havoc in their lives. Brother’s name is Ned (played by Rudd) who happens to be an idealist and a former dealer of cannabis. He was arrested because of this business and eventually is released from the prison after a while. After being released from the prison, he starts living with his sisters. Initially, everything goes fine but eventually he starts disrupting their otherwise peaceful lives with his crazy ideas and hilarious attitude. One of the sisters is Miranda (played by Banks) who is very sensitive about her profession and carrier. She is about to have a noteworthy breakthrough in journalism but at the nick of time, Ned ruins the entire scenario. The second sister is Natalie (played by Deschanel) who happens to be a bisexual and a hipster. She has a girlfriend named Cindy (played by Rashida Jones) but she is constantly lying to her girlfriend about her personal life. Here, once again, Ned plunges into the life of Natalie and makes a mess out of it. Finally, the third sister is Liz (played by Mortimer). She is a married women and a mother. But she is not paying much attention to her husband and instead gives all the attention to her children. As a result, even though she is a good mother, her marriage is going toward a disaster. Even though Ned creates a lot of trouble in the lives of his sisters, he makes them realize some important things about life.

This is a hilarious comedy with quite a unique idea and has countless moments of subtle and original comedy. The central character of Ned, the idealist brother, has been played by Paul Rudd very impressively. The script of the film was a result of the collaboration between David Schisgall and Evgenia Peretz. The script is very impressive and has been executed with tight direction.

Good direction and script has been fully support by great acting from the entire cast. Overall, this is a hilarious comedy and can be considered one of the best comedy films which would be released in near future. Movie Wallpapers are also a catch. Official release date of the film is August 26, 2011.

Twilight

The movie Twilight adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s 1st of the 3 novels is a mixture of the good the bad and truly ugly. But the diehard twilight fans may rest assured- the movie captures the main essence of the book in a sustained manner right till the end all thanks to the superb direction by Director Catherine Hardwicke and screen writer Melissa Rosenburg. Not only the teen vampire romance stays intact but it improves with every dialogue and scene and the insertion of some nice action sequences make it wade through the rocky story telling parts with superb ease. A perfect thing for people who prefer to watch movies online or download free movies from the net. The cast should also be appreciated for living up to the high standards set by the author in the book. Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed are to be applauded most as their character had been described such extensively in the book as if no human on the planet could look like them. For people who have already read the book, they know that Bella quickly and easily falls for the cold blooded 17 yr old Edward Cullen while sharing the same table at lunch. The director puts them together in the film much quicker than the book which is appreciable as the most interesting parts of the book are yet o come. The emotional trauma which Edward faces when his desire to kiss Bella is followed by his fear of biting her is nicely depicted in the move. But the bad and disappointing side of the movie is that the silent and romantic moments found in the book have been missing in the film. Also Kristen Stewart’s performance as Bella is not up to the mark and lacks the intensity that the story demands of her. Also below average special effects make the movie not so audience- friendly. It may be possible that due to budget constraint the movie became a tad less appealing although why the director compromised on the budget for such a high potential film is a mystery. But still the huge fan following that the book has got the fans won’t mind such petty drawbacks. Overall it’s an average film drawing in mixed reactions from the audience. But those looking to watch the movie online or simply download from the net won’t certainly be disappointed. The wallpapers showing Bella and Edward has a romantic touch to it and surely the fans will put these movie wallpapers in their desktops or cell phones. So, what are you waiting for?
