The Black Death

This is a movie that may be taken as a satire of the times during the plague of the 14th century. References to dark arts are the elements which keep the audiences glued to their seats. The movie starts with the announcement of the year of the Plague. Then it plods through to the scene of the crime itself. And then begins to plot a dark picture of the times during the plague. The movie starts with the hero Ulric (Sean Bean) starting his crusade with a bunch of his knights. He enlists the help of a monk Osmond (Eddie Redmayne) who actually has an ulterior reason in joining the brave knights. His love interest Avrill (Kimberley Nixon) has deserted him, at least for the time being; the reason being that she had to travel to her village. The monk had dreamed of a way to get to her village and when the knights ask for his help with the navigation he at once complies. You may download the movie free at See Movies For Free.
The knights chase their way with the monk leading the way, into the marshes. Here Hob (Tim McInnerny) and Langiva (Carice van Houten) lead revelry at the village and it is here that the fight between the pagans and the Christians is staged. The chase itself is not without its share of causalities with both the plague and the villagers claiming their share of the spoils. The knights reach a church where they are made comfortable for the night. Though there are suspicions of the actual motives of the hosts Langiva and Hob, the knights partake of their food and go to sleep. The food turns out to be drugged and when the knights awake they find their feet and hands tied. They have become a prisoner of the necromancer Langiva.
There is a great deal of melodrama with the necromancer forcing a couple of the knights to renounce their faith. The fight at the end is also a violent one. Wallpapers with the great scenes may be downloaded at Wallpapers from Movies.
The chase is very realistic and the portion of the film where it touches on the pagan worship is seen to be out of context. Though it may have been the life of the people in the 13-14th centuries in England, one does not want to get too closely identified with that.
This is a great movie for those who love the romanticism and the chivalry of the knights and for those who love the dark moment. There is plenty of horse riding and the final scenes uses horses to bring up the end. One will also enjoy the scenes in the marshes with the sorceress Langiva who effectively binds up the end of the movie with her sorcery.
